How We Got Started

Back in 2018, our founders Marcus and David were working at different investment firms, both frustrated by the same problem. The financial analysis tools available were either incredibly expensive enterprise solutions or basic spreadsheet templates that barely scratched the surface.

Marcus was spending his weekends building custom Excel models, while David was writing Python scripts to automate his daily analysis work. When they met at a Vancouver fintech meetup, they realized they weren't alone in this struggle.

Six months later, we launched Skill Line from a shared workspace in downtown Vancouver. Our first product was a financial ratio calculator that could process multiple companies simultaneously. Within three months, we had 500 users across Canada and the US.
